Forums - Sony - Weather not guaranteed for Gran Turismo 5

I hope they implement weather. And visual damage on all cars (invluding deformation of chassis).

Let the devlopment tak another 6-12 months to accomplish this. This could becme the perfect racing game for decades.

I remember the first TOCA I played had casual weather selectable (but no weather change during the race). It was very arcade, though, I was able to beat it with a joystick, that I can't on more faithful simulations.

I smell dynamic weather DLC.

Maybe I should ease off on FM3 then. This has been a major gripe for me but if the console sims look to only have it in the form of cycles then so be it. I cannot pretend that I would not be dissapointed though.

I remember TOCA, it was one of my favourite games at the time. I seem to remember the progression was a little tortorous but it did at least rain. I was never going to be able to splash out on a wheel though. Probably did not even have Joystick although I did have a G series Joystick for flight sims.

Like in GPL, like in reality, there were huge differences amongst cars guidability and performances, like in reality in the year tournament it reproduced, Renault had a huge advantage (just like Brabham and Lotus in GPL, unless one has the drive style to fully exploit Ferrari, Eagle, Honda and BRM high RPM), but nevertheless it was quite arcade, as even at maximum difficulty, I was able to beat the Renault if I just avoided using the Peugeot, really meh, or the Ford, that I liked a lot, but it was too heavy and its nice V6 had too little torque.
Some tracks, though, despite the arcade approach, were quite difficult.

Didn't PGR4 have some sort of crazy dynamic weather system? I heard it was loads of fun to be in a 5 minute race where the weather would go from cloudy, to rainy to snowing. This definitely wouldn't work for GT5 though. Having races on real time according to your timezone would have been a cool feature though, because then we would be able to get some visual goodness from sunrises and sunsets.

they dont know yet????!!! eh? it is march 2010 its out right?

I'm guessing they're not sure they can perfect it on time for March 2010... if they can't they'll just remove it altogether.

That's the most likely explanation based on their comments.

they implement it, but likely be buggy.

Polyphony build hype by stating that things are not in. Then they do put them in!

Or keeping something new for GT6

A racing sim game without weather/damage....now what do u know about that!

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.
