Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 on hard... is really hard

Some parts of the game, with massive fights you can just sprint through to the next checkpoint. Even on Elite. On the approach to the fight with Radec, I just sprinted past all the big fights, even sprinted up past all the barracades and up through the doors.

It was funny to see one of the other dudes (can't remember his name) close the door behind me saying we'll hold outside, after sprinting by around 100 helghans.

I think in those fights, you actually have to keep pushing or else you wont actually get anywhere. I remember dying so many times on veteran in the fighting to get into Radec's place. After dying so many times, I just said screw it and found a hallway that I could run through and did so and *BAM* I picked up a checkpoint.

I did the exact same thing, unfortunately when I hit the checkpoint I was almost dead, so it took me another 30 minutes to find a way to get to the next checkpoint without dying right after spawning.

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

I haven't even beat it on normal. I was going to I just keep getting better games. I may go back to it after I beat Demon's Souls(3 times)

Pfft, go play Ninja Gaiden Sigma and tell me ANY other game is hard (with the exception of Demon's Souls).

NGS on Easy was a hell of a lot harder than Uncharted on Crushing, and I never finished KZ2 on Hard, but I'm sure it's not harder than that.

KZ2 isn't that hard.

It only gets hard in the last chapter...

And I'm playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 right now !

I know elite is the hardest difficulty. But here's the funny thing.
After hard, elite was easy.
Hard took me about 32 hours to compete. I'm already at the last boss on elite in less than 11.

32 hours! Ouchie.

I foolishly decided to do my first play through of the game on hard. It's ok until the last bit. That play through was about 14 hours I think (of which 3 alone was the last level).

After that I vowed to never even attempt Elite.

Few months later I decided what the hell. Decided to try Eilte out. Took me about 9 or 10 hours I think. Wasn't so bad.

I got the trophy for beating all the chapets without dying playing on Normal. That is a cakewalk compared to Elite.

Anybody who says it's a breeze is mad and/or lying. It's a bitch.

I played through the single player on normal and I thought the throne room/Radec fight was an absolute bitch. But the strategy I had success with was a combination of IGN's strategy guide and my own lucky discovery:

For the rocket launcher guys, you have to go up to the upper level on the right side of the room and hide behind the stair railing and rubble. The rockets will mostly just blow up over your head or hit the railing before they get to you. In between, you can pop up over the rubble and pick the guys off with your sniper.

If you use the flame thrower on Radec you will beat him in less than 5 minutes. If you get in some really good shots, he will continue to burn even when he's running around invisible. That means he will continue to take damage AND you will always know where he is. The trick is finding a flame thrower laying around.

PS--I agree with you guys--I played through Ninja Gaiden 2 on the 360 and that last boss is ridiculous.  I eventually did beat him, but holy crap it was hard.

I'll give ya something hard...

i'm really proficient at shooters, and i spent about 3 hours dying on elite last night. holy crap this game is hard.

it didn't help that i didn't have a rifle but the flamethrower at the start of the ambush (that is a big no no). trying to lure the higs close enough to fry them was not my preferred strategy.

but the thing that sets this game apart from any other shooter i've ever played is the runthrough. what i mean is that if you are stuck on a level long enough, you will eventually learn where every bad guy is, and so you can exploit that to have sort of a "psychic" advantage. this doesn't really work on killzone. the enemy are so dynamic that the bastards change the gameplan. there are certain things that will be the same every time (for the most part). but it would never fail as soon as i thought i had secured a little area some dude would break position and come get me.

kudos, guerrilla...well played.

art is the excrement of culture

yea i think i started my first play through on hard(or normal, i dont remember) but i cant get passed radecs throne room or whatever really hard game

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.
