@c03n3nj0: do you know if the Metal Gear Solid Essentials Collection has the regular version of MGS 3 or is it MGS 3: Subsistence? I couldn't stand not having control of the camera, that's why I like Subsistence much better. Plus, having the extras doesn't hurt either....

It has the first disc of Subsistence. So you have all those nice little camera options. But it doesn't have the second disc with the old Metal Gears on it.

@c03n3nj0 - good. i dont know how i could get by in MGS 3 without that handy camera option. i will definitely pick that up then....

You must get Dark Cloud 2 if you like Action RPGs a little. One of the best PS2 games and I've played a lot of them. It's a gem really. And you really don't have to play the first since it's not a sequel.

You might also want to get FFX which IMO the best RPG ever.

Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 are really cool but you must know what to expect or you might be disappointed.

Dragon Quest VIII is for you if you're a hardcore RPG gamer.

There's so many games...but you have to choose one that fits your preferences.

But understand one thing: Any time I get the chance to bash a crappy console and praise a great one, I'm going to do so. I know you're talking about the PS2. I'm just saying that the PS2 didn't have anything on it that's "The Best of the Best." All of those games were on the GameCube. The PS2's best game is a GameCube port (RE4).

@Boutros - thanks for those additional suggestions. you are the first one that i have heard suggest Dark Cloud 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, and Dragon Quest 8. i would love to try all of those that you mentioned. ive never played any of them. sounds good.....THANKS!!!!

You're probably the only person on earth to say: Gamecube > PS2.
