Forums - Nintendo - Wii system update====WII menu 4.2

seriously, I tried pirating after seeing someone post a thread about it here (which I actually deleted and locked) just to see how easy it is. I gave up when I found out I'd have to patch together 20 different files from some file sharing website and each download had a 1 minute wait. WAY to much work, I'd rather pay the $20 for a used game

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

I think everyone should know this, but Homebrewing is not when you illegally pay for games, that's pirating. Homebrew isn't illegal, but it does void the warranty. The reason Nintendo wants to uproot hackers is because it leads to illegal pirating. They don't want people to stoop so low.

That isn't the problem though. The problem is that the update is so buggy that it can brick the Wii even if it isn't Homebrewed. (BTW, this is aimed at earlier posts)

Pirate FUD.

Not updating. I still want to play my Gundam game.

No, I'm clearly just stating the obvious and the truth. I admit, I have Homebrew, but I only used it for DVD's and Region-Free games like Disaster or once-a-japan only game, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

I shame those who pirate. It harms businesses and only creates more of a mess which companies only tend to ignite further. IMO, pirating isn't fun. I like the surprise of buying a game. The satisfaction you get when you say that I clearly spent my $50 well. With Pirating, its like the rich. You are never satisfied. You always want more. And soon, you'll pirate more games, and only add to your disatisfaction.
