In Australia and Japan we both only pay customs if it is a very large sum. I made that mistake once in Japan. Orderd $350 worth and paid 800 yen, which is very little anyway.

The average price now in the States is about $14 for a BD, and there are many at $9.99. Very similar prices to what DVD was before BD came in. In Europe, Japan and Australia they are finally starting to come down in price, too just like DVD did when it was in it's infancy.

What it will do is help cement PS4 and it could force M$'s hand into going Blu with the 720.

I doubt Blu-Ray going mainstream, whatever the fuck that means, will do anything for the PS4. Until Sony get re-earn all the dough they lost, the PS4 is a pipe dream.

There is Innovates, Early Adopters, Early Majority, Late Majority and Laggards.

The "dreamers" phase would still be Early Adoption. Just that they see price as what is stopping early majority users to buy.

There is nothing stopping them from pricing Blu-rays at DVD prices. that is the only time Blu-ray will hate mainstream.

I for one, can't justify dropping $30 on a movie right now.

No, this will not help the PS3. I can buy a Bluray player for less that $100.00. Most people are not buying the PS3 because it has a Bluray player. They are buying it because of either blind loyalty, all their friends have one, or because they want to play the exclusives the console has to offer.

No, actually Walmart has had one for $98.99 for about two months now.

Well bluray will certainly be the mainstream media format, but let's face it, that's like being NBC,CBS,or abc and having to compete with all the cable channels. DVD had it good but bluray is kind of screwed, it has to compete with so much more.

And as to whether it will help ps3 or not I don't know, but mainstream prices are a lot better than the price of a ps3.
