Forums - General - Who here suffers from mediocrity?

I do lol.

Who else suffers from being mediocre, run of the mill, middle of the road, average or second rate?

Um, I dunno. Like in grades and stuff? Life?

I think I'm above average.

*raises hand* I have no specialty. I envy kids who took a hobby, instrument, sport, skill, etc and ran with it their entire lives.

I can't even really consider myself a hardcore gamer. I can't consider myself an expert at anything O.o

Fuck, I can't even consider myself an "expert" or someone that's "deep" into subcultures that are looked down upon. I'm too much of a loser for losers O.o

About 99.9% of the world agree with you. Unfortunatly.

I already PM'd you about it O.o I wanted a TV for my PS3 instead, so we bought a $200 Sanyo, and since my dad didn't like Vista, he traded computers with me. So far I'm fine with Vista, but it's actually feels slower than my last computer O.o It's ok though, since I don't have much time to play a time consuming game like Total War. I'll rather play quick, less strategic games on the consoles for 30 mins-1 hour, than try to play a game I used to pull all nighters for O.o

I'm playing as Carthage right now on M/M. I don't like the difficult levels for battles since it doesn't change the AI whatsoever, but only gives stat boosts to them. I'm thinking of playing VH/M next campaign. So far as Carthage, I've established naval supremacy, and I'm colonizing the entire Iberian peninsula while I'm fighting a bitter ground battle with the Romans. It kinda sucks because the infantry isn't in Carthage's favor and so auto resolving siege battles are out, and playing manually isn't to my advantage.

I'm almost able to recruit Poeni infantry which are Phalanx troops, so that'll give me a nice reformed army capable of standing toe to toe with the Romans inantry wise, while I also have superior calvary. I'll also soon be able to get some Sacred Bands in a couple turns, and that'll give me a nice elite troop.

I'm planning on maybe fighting a longer war just for the hell of it, and conquer Iberia and like Hannibal, march my troops through Gaul and take on the Julii from the North and pincer the Italian Peninsula, leaving Rome just for last for a dramatic finale =D

Then I'll go on to conquer Gaul from Iberia, and Greece from Italy and Carthage. I'll save Egypt for last so I can fight against a fellow super power.

LOL! I was gonna comfort you and say that at least you're an expert on telling Total War chronicles and there you are again.

I mean never stood out of the crowd in general, across all fields and disciplines there is nothing you've excelled at.

For example I've always achieved good grades and I'm currently doing a masters degree at university. But I can hardly say I've ever stood out of the crowd in anything.

I'm already writing an AAR, but instead of writing it on the spot in the forum, I'm just gonna write it all in Word, think over it for weeks, proof read it, think of story arcs and characters, etc and THEN post it.

If you want a spoiler:

My main character has an omen about his city Carthage burning, and hearing children scream. He's told by his personal priest that there are no such thing as false prophecies. Driven by fear, he decides to conquer Rome and put the entire country in shambles, massacring everything, destroying everything. At the end though, he finally conquers Rome and as he walks through the terrorized streets, he realizes that the vision he saw wasn't of Carthage, but of Rome, and that HE's the tyrant that has butchered so many lives, killed so many innocents, and caused suffering.

And then he kinda goes crazy as his nightmare comes true.

But if my faction leader dies early, then I'll have to make the faction heir the one who has the dreams, and conquers the city O.o Word is also easier in that I can just directly put images from my computer, rather than worry about uploading first.
