I read some impressions saying that visually the damage is not great, but mechanically the crashes affect the car quite a lot...

I believe Forza 4 and GT6 on next gen consoles will have true chassis deformation like that, generated by advanced physics simulations running through the GPU.
I can't wait.
I have two lines of though on this.
One, is it is not a crash simulator, so damage should only effect some aspects of your race, but not end it completely. Realistic damage is like a one shot one kill mechanic.
However, since T10 gave us a rewind feature, wicked crashes (even canned Burnout: Paradise style crashes) would have been a welcome feature.
I guess I could also note that realistic damage would take much more time and effort to program; something that could have been included in a game that had, say, 8 or so years of dev time (not mentioning any names).

The damage in Forza 3 is downright pathetic imo, and it pisses me off cause I was expecting very realistic damage, not the same bullshit from forza 2

Are you talking about the visual damage or the mechanical damage?

That was pretty funny. I thought it would be much better...
Can you turn the damage off completely? I know that sounds all noob, but that was one of my favorite parts of GT3, 200MPH directly in to a wall and you are. . . . stopped.

Visual.
Well its equal to, or greater than, Forza 2's damage which is alright with me. Plus the rest of the game looks to have improved. There were hardly any cars in Forza 2 and now theres what like 700 or something huge?
I won't get Forza 3 cause I'm a GT fan but Forza 3 looks like the 2nd best racing game this gen!
