According to http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=6112 Wii during the week just ended should have outsold PS3 from 53000 to 87000. If Wii keeps some momentum and at the same time PS3 gets some too after FFXIII spike, we could see a tie.

I'd really laugh if they both hit the milestone in the same week.

Wii will get a boost this week. But to win the race NSMBWII has to give the Wii a boost which compensates the whole FF 13 boost and the difference between both consoles now it has to be a really huge boost. I would be surprised if FF13 would provide a smaller boost then NSMBWII because we have seen that a simple demo package for the PS3 for a redicolously high price in a weak period of this year boosted the PS3 from 10-20k to 58k so the full game should provide a huge boost. Maybe we can see the numbers for Wii in Japan tomorow.

It would be so cool if they did it the same week! TBH this whole debate is starting to get old and annoying, especially if both consoles perform well, so regardless who get their first would seem meaningless

Hey i aint takin sides, i wouldnt mind either as long as both are selling well, even though i have a slight inclination towards nintendo but i also love my PS3

Very good Mario spike for Wii, but not so huge to make impossible for FFXIII to counter it.

Notes:

1) Last week's numbers have both been adjusted upwards slightly.  Wii still ended up on top, but the difference was more than halved to 1,307.

2) As expected, Wii made back a big chunk of  PS3's lead this week, but fell considerably short of ioi's prediction (made Oct 21) of 155,000 sales.  Consequently the gap reduction was less than half of the predicted value of 110,000.

3) PS3 should still be leading the overall race when FFXIII launches (ioi's Oct 21 prediction has Wii reducing the gap by 75k next week), but there's a good chance that Wii will take over the "Since race start" lead next week.  This means Wii will have outsold PS3 when you exclude the 60k unit head start.

Ouch on the final fantasy comment, if that happens, a lot of fans will cry.
