VGChartz Hardware data for the period 28th Sep 2008 to 28th Mar 2009:

And in March PS3 is getting Gran Turismo 5, another possible big hardware pusher. Unless this year sales will increase by a lot thanks to pricecuts of both consoles,

my call is still PS3.

yeah don't forget Nintendo do well in the holidays, even during GC days, though FF13 can plummet PS3 sales to 150k-200k first week... we'll see

Huh? Wii sold 450k more - what does that prove?

Wii will have a much stronger holiday this year than in 2008 (in Japan especially). PS3 will obviously be up as well, but aside from Final Fantasy XIII doesn't have anything else that big for the remainder of the year (Tekken 6, Bayonetta etc will do ok).

I think he wanted to say that the the marks will not be reached until March, and that if the difference in sales between Wii and PS3 is small, in March PS3 has a better lineup with GT%...IMO Both can reach the marks before march, but we'll see.

It may not be by much but I think the Wii will reach 10m before PS3 reach 5m.

It`s more like may not, rather than will not. :) And in that case, PS3 chances to get to 5 mln. first even higher with GT5 release.

However, i still wonder what effect on sales will FFXIII do. Now with slim model and recent pricecut PS3 could do very well.

It will be an interesting sales battle.
