Another thing to consider: Wii will be very strong everywhere this week, with price cut WW and WiiFit+ in Japan, but after WiiFit+, releases will be quite scarce for Wii in Japan for the rest of October.

Arius Dion - we will see next week.
Also, Famitsu and VGC has above 40k+ so i`m still winning.
And 40 from 40k, is only 0,1%. So, within statistic error margin still 40k.

Of course, November is when the REAL big hitters will start to come out for Wii, starting with NSMBWii. ToG, Samurai Warriors 3, and FFCC:CB all should find similar success.
Margin of error? Anything to keep you afloat, I guess.
But claiming that you're "Still winning" a bet destined for failure doesn't mean much. PS3 will keep dropping, it's ony natural.

From dengeki:
Hardware | This Week | Last Week | LTD
NDS | 77,316 | 80,788 | 27,728,285
PSP | 15,254 | 18,809 | 12,672,459
Wii | 10,574 | 14,978 | 8,625,774
PS3 | 43,279 | 52,550 | 3,658,822
X360 | 5,419 | 4,917 | 1,141,510
PS2 | 3,139 | 2,775 |
Total | 154,981 | 174,817 |
PS3 closer to Media-Create (40k) than Famitsu (50k).
So also Dengeki clearly shows that PS3 is on the decline. According to them the drop is 9k this week.
Taken from GAF.
I'm just gonna chime in a bit. No need to call ioi bias as I think the Wii reaching 10 million is the most logical conclusion based on the data we have. It will be close so factoring in the unknown can tilt it to either side but he hasn't said anything that comes off as crazy. To ioi's little cheerleader guy that keeps telling people not to argue with him...drop it dude. It's a message board, that's kind of the point, and no one person is ever always right.
I'm gonna say the PS3 hits it's milestone first for a few reasons. One is that I think FFXIII will be bigger than most people are expecting (it will sell way more than 1.5 million) and NSMB will be smaller (still bigger than FFXIII). I think both consoles will have lower than expected holiday sales which will mean they'll have to reach their goals early next year and I say GT5 pushes PS3 ahead. There is also no way Wii will beat PS3 every week for the rest of the year. I'd bet on it.
It seems that Famitsu overtracks all consoles, or at least compared to MC/VGC...MC numbers seem the most credible IMO, not just because of PS3 but also for Wii...
Interesting thread. Don't know how I missed it. Its interesting because Sony kinda cheated by releasing the PS3 Slim. But, demand for slim will eventually slow down and Wii will take its rightful place as number 1.
Will should reach it first. Mario is bigger in Japan than Final Fantasy is.
NINTENDO
nintendo forever . . .

I think he meant "Wii".
Well right now the Wii has 1.45 millions to go, the PS3 1.36 millions to go...
and 90k difference isn't a small number in Japan..
