lol, so many bans passed out from this one thread. Guys quit hatin' the 360, it will get you nowhere. The dude want to buy one, he has already made up his mind. For him, the 360 is the superior console in terms of value, this may not be true for many, but for him it is.
I commend the OP on his choice, there are so many great games to play on the 360, the up converting looks almost as good as the PS3s native...there will be no noticeable difference between the 360 and the PS3 in terms of resolution of your 37" TV (unless you are inches away...in which case, you have other problems to worry about). RROD is almost a non factor now, and if you are getting the system from the US you will have the three year warranty. And lastly, Bluray is overrated, and overpriced. You can get almost the same look from a good upconverting DVD player, and on your TV you really wouldn't notice a difference.

after having Rrood 3 times I've learned that the only way you"ll get it is if you play for long periods of times, im talking playing 4-6 hrs straight non stop, I now limit my self to play 3 hrs max on my 360 and I havent had rrod for the last 2 years

Do M$ give a maunfactur warranty in your country? You should still get a M$ warranty even though the shops dont offer one. M$ warranty is 3 years. Any problems and they will fix it for you. 3 year warranty I believe. New models have a failiure similar to PS3 now so I wouldn't worry to much.

Similar failure rate? I don't think that there is data on the new models and the 10% failure rate of the PS3 is also related to the Phatz and not to the Slim. Makes it hard to compare like with like.

No that was all failiures for any models that were made after October 2008. The article was posted here somewhere. I'll try and find it.

I remember reading the article and that they provided data for failures excluding RROD. Not sure whether that was pre or after 2008 though.

Also a 'failure' in these studies is that they fail to take into account the longitudinal aspects. It is obvious that newer models fail less because they have had less time to do so. This applies to the PS3 which has been less on the market. Also the lower failure rate of the Wii was still biased - using a console 6 hours a day is not the same as using it for 3 hours on 2 days.

Guess we'll need to do a 'scientific' study on the matter and pit gamers in rooms to see which console fails first!

I'll get the three year warranty, if my 360 RRODs on me i guess i can send it to the US or have some friend send it for me, but they don't offer this in Bolivia (because they never actually launched the console here)
OK, so dead space is good, I love zombie/survival games, now i really have a dilemma:
Dead Space/ RE5 / Left4Dead (I really loved RE4 and the attention to detail capcom put into it)

Don't play it?? Thats the only way to avoid red ring. Hahaha...I'm only laughing because mine just red ringed last week
