Next week will be around 248k, it will level off at around 200k per week
how come these numbers aren't on the front page...i was about to post a why the numbers aren't her thread until my eyes fell upon this thread so yeah vg should put the numbers up on the front page

no seriously with 100 dollar price cuts for both and wii is only 20 dollars less here in canada then the elite and slim yet when u ask they say wii got sold out like 5-30 min before like seriously i asked this guy(just for sales purposes) as to how many wiis they have and how many they got and the guy said that they got 50 wiis and in 1 day they all got sold...they had like 4slims and as usual a pile of 360s waiting to be bought(yeah right! lol :D) so yeah its amazing how wii still sells and it rose...by october i expect wii to outselling ps3 and 360 again like always but i expect ps3 to outsell 360 atleast until feb 10... as for ps2...omg after 9 years it still sells 50k omg....bad ps2

Good numbers for the PS3, but it's a lost battle, she keeps dropping and will soon be back behind the Wii.
Nintendo sucessfully stabilised the DS with that new version and all the hits that keeps coming. I don't have a doubt that finally the DS will beat the record of sales for a console.
To me, all electonics machines that are mainly used to play are consoles. At least in my first language, so I will say the DS is a console because it sounds natural for me.
And yes, the "handhelds" can compete with the "living-room consoles". I think that the DS took the PS2 spot in Japan quite clearly. She became the main hardware to work on and support in that country.

Just to be deliberately awkward the Game Gear was a Master System, a console.
