Sales will show slow but steady growth -- similar to what would have been expected without the price cut. The difference is the upward trend will start sooner and reach higher than previously anticipated.
Thus, I would not be surprised to only see modest gains (250k-275k) in the first week. The price increase probably caught a lot of people unaware. This was not a situation where the price drop or new model had been rumored for months on end. This was a situation where only a week passed from the first grainy photographs of the new price to the actual announcement -- and some places were just getting the word out on Monday.
But unlike other recent announcements, I expect the sales increase to be the new normal, not a jump that lasts a single week.
