In order to empower the video creators in our community we've added these fixed style cameras.

At first we we're concerned with the issue you describe...the camera clipping through geometry, however we felt it was a small price to pay for to give users the ability to get up close on the racing action they have saved in their replays.

So in short this is something that happens as a result of empowering our users and is a "bug" we're willing to accept for this very reason.

Woah! I didn't try out the replay so haven't experianced it but I hope it's nothing like that in the full game. Better not be. Still amazing graphics for a console with 3+ year old hardware with a development cycle of around 2 years.

Cockpit view @ 30fps? It most certainly is not! Not in the demo I have anyway.

That's the camera clipping through random geometry on the side of the track when you switch to specialized cameras.  They haven't commented on the track vanishing.

The track is geometry.  It appears that the camera is going beneath the track and Forza handles it in much the same way as any game handles cameras going through level geometry.  Lots of FPS games have random times where the camera goes through the floor.  You see the levels in much the same way as what is shown in the pictures in this thread.

Yeah dude Dirt 2 does look alot better than Forza 3 it imo.

100% yes!!! DiRT 2 is the best looking racing game I have seen so far this generation, amazing game, sooo many fantastic effects which make the game look amazing, the enviroments are easily on par with Forza 3's, both have very good draw distances and attention to detail, just depends if you like on road or off-road best, I also have to say DiRT 2's replays are a lot lot better than Forza 3's, as is the damage, rewind and sense of speed.

And yup, I'll get all my links together and post them here for you all to look at, I also have some new pictures and three new videos.

100% agree.Dirt 2 is the best looking racing game on HD platforms.that lightining looks better than Motorstorm2 (well it look better than MS2 anyways),gt5:P,and burnout paradise.

 

kudos to code masters for creating this beauty(which is fun ,,unlike the boring GT5 or forza 3)

The demo was alright. Didn't seem as realistic as forza 2. The flipping is cool. The cockpit views sort of look like ass But overall they did improve visuals. Not to the extent i was expecting though. I noticed that the guy does not shift gears nor can you look around the inside of the car while driving

I could have sworn I saw a video where the guy was looking left and right in the cockpit.
