Forums - Nintendo - What kind of Wiimote user are you?

After playing some NHL2k10 with friends last night it got me thinking about the Wiimote. Some people seem to always wear the wrist strap, and use the rubber case. Others like me use neither. For me I simply got used to the Wii before the condom and never was able to get used to it. In addition, I always thought the wrist strap was silly, until people started breaking TVs. In the end that was still not enough to get me to use it though. So I ask you all, in what way do you hold your Wiimote?

i use the condom all the time now that i got motion plus but before that i only used it for 2d games like wario since the grip is so good.

I've got my two Wiimotes with WM+ wrapped in rubber and two without dongles or rubber. I bought all my Wiimotes before the jackets came along, and didn't feel a huge need to get them, but with WM+ my wiimotes are more massive and being played with more exaggerated gestures than before, so leaving the rubber on makes sense. I keep a couple naked wiimotes because I really prefer them for pointer-based games and NES-style games.

All wiimotes have straps. I trust myself not to chuck the wiimote around, but three incidents with guests have convinced me that they need to be there, and I use them myself as a precaution, to prevent the weight from swinging around distractingly, and to lead a good example.

How's NHL2K10? I'm not normally interested in sports games, but the Wii just makes me interested, somehow.

Yeah, I find the WiiMote cases to be too bulky, so they're somewhere in this house... somewhere. I even took the time to dig the WM+ out of their respective covers just so I wouldn't have to deal with the added baggage.

I don't practice safe WiiMote usage with the wrist straps either, I'm a bad boy.

This thread needs more innuendo.

I don't use the jackets unless i'm playing high gesture games and their are other playing with me. I also don't use the straps except for the same situation. I don't trust others not to throw the remote, I or they might hit someone and I like to set a better example for clumsy people.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I use both the jacket and wrist strap for any game I play

NHL2K10 is great, a huge improvement over 2k9 thanks to M+, WiiSpeak and robust online. Sure it is still NHL2k so some will be turned off, but it is the definitive version and I actually prefer it to EA's game this year, thanks to the controls. Hockey is the only sport I play on console, so it is nice to have a shining example on Wii. FYI reviews seems to be in the 8-8.5/10 range. Quite good.

I don't usually use either. Sometimes i wear the strap because it feels right with it on. But the i don't put the jacket on cuz its a pain when its time to change the batteries. Can you buy the jackets seperate? Can't wait till the black peripherals come out.
