Forums - Gaming - Forza 3 seems way more arcade then GT5 in these videos....

First look at the F3 video and pay special attention to the steering wheel. As anyone can clearly see correcting the steering wheel to changing factors as reduced speed, angle of road and so on seems to be unneccesary in F3. Then look at GT5, case closed as far as I am concerned.

I added a NFS:SHIFT video and that one even seems more realistic when looking at F3

So noone else sees the differences then me? Here I was thinking they were more obvious then the sun in a clear blue sky.

I thought Forza 3 had some arcade or beginners mode, the demo could be played in that mode.

Otherwise I would think that fanboys don't really understand what you've pointed out because it's something tangible. You should have pointed out something subjective.

Forza series has always been more realistic in physics modelling

GT series better graphics and more cars and tracks.

These things are core to the values of both games and probably wont change.

But I agree this Forza looks more arcade than the last. Doesnt mean it will be in gameplay tho.

Forza 3 is too bright, even in the 'sunny' areas. It looks a lot like Modern Warfare 2's first MP Video, which is also WAY too bright. The driver's hand is on the steering wheel in the beginning of the video as well, but when he starts turning a lot, you don't see his hands anymore?? I don't quite get that. The angle of the video isn't the best, but on sharp turns, IMO, you should still see his hands cross the top of the steering wheel which is visible the entire video. The race also, through video mind you, looks very slow paced. In comparison to the GT5 video, and it may just be because of the type of track, the little boxy Subaru seems to be going faster than what appears to be (based on the competition) a super car in Forza 3. Just looks very slow-paced.

GT5, on the other hand; the drivers hands stay on screen, and it's got much better and more natural looking lighting effects.

The hands and lighting has nothing to do with the gameplay though, I'm more worried about Forza looking slowish. Anyone else notice that, or am I the only one?

NFS:Shift looks good, I like the way the camera view shakes when he hits bumps and takes turns and whatnot. The graphics, however good they are, don't compare to either Forza or GT5 IMO.

In terms of overall graphics, I have to say GT5 just because of the more natural look.

Well lets see. The forza 3 video has most of the steering wheel cut off. You can't even see small movements like the GT5 video because of this. They are definitely there in Forza 3, though. Also, in the Forza vid, you only get up to 3rd gear most of the time and the turns are not very sharp meaning you rarely have to turn the wheel a lot.

My actual impressions from watching just the GT5 and Forza 3 videos is that the Forza 3 one looked a lot more realistic and actually LESS arcadey. I think you just need to find a better cockpit video of Forza 3.

See this video for better cockpit and showing of the steering wheel. Notice it matches almost perfectly with real life movement?

Maybe it's just the videos chosen, but of these 3, Forza 3 looks the most natural and realistic.  GT5 looks all blue-ish and arcade like while the Forza 3 vid looked like I was actually driving in a real environment!

I like how the cockpit view in Shift is not completely static as in GT5 and FM3. PC sims do it too and without it both GT5 and FM3 look a bit artificial. ...And that's it for NFS positive points .

Ah a Forza novice, all accelerator and all over the place.

Hmm, you did notice I talked about correcting in turns right. The video you posted just showed more evidence that correction is not neccesary at all in this arcade driver. Also, where's the damage in that video?

Showing off the fact that games can accurately respond to signals given with a controller is as old as pong. It just looks impressive and that goes for all 3 games I posted vids off. I am talking about actual handling and use the steering wheel as a referencepoint for that.
