Forums - Nintendo - Do you think the new zelda for wii is coming in 2010 or 2010?

I will go with 2010, and not just because of the title error. The game being into 2011 would mean close to 5 years of development, considering that they have separate (though with flexible personnel) handheld and console teams.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Hmmm... the first choice or the second one...?

Damn, tough choice, I can't decide. I'll go with 2010. That other choice makes no sense.

Ok give the guy a break. Its boring to milk the same joke. Just lock this thread and make a jnew one

Anyhoo, for a serious answer this time: I still think it's definietly 2010. TP was in '06, give it plenty of time of development, and with Nintendo's policy if showing games a few months of release can give it a few trailers at e3 '10 and have it for a holiday release.

Hope they show something earlier, though. We need more the a measly picture.

Wasn't twillight princess had its first trailer in 2004 or 05?

Yeah, but recently Nintendo has only shown its stuff closer to release. Like Punch-out!!! it was announced a couple months before release. I would guess Zelda is a lot bigger, though, so who knows?

I hope they aim for a 2010 release. As most Zelda games get delayed anyway, we will play it in 2011.

New Zelda Wii will have a trailer at GDC.

It will then be released for 2010 holidays.

Just for the fun (but who knows): it will be a launch title for the next Wii in 2012, and will be at the same time the last 1st party "old Wii" game... history repeats itself...

More seriously, i don't see it coming in 2010... they had nothing to show this year, and for a game like this, they make an official trailer at least one year before the release, not 3 or 6 months...

And in most of recent Myamoto interviews, you can guess they have most of the basic ideas, but also that they're not that far away in the game's development... plus, they will need extra-time for extra-polish, to be sure not to disappoint... december 2010 would be very optimistic...

"A beautiful drawing in 480i will stay beautiful forever...

and an ugly drawing in 1080p will stay ugly forever..."

I would be shocked if it was any earlier than 2011. Considering they only had concept art to show at E3 and given their track record for development time of major franchises, this has 2011 written all over it.

Early development?? No way, knowing Nintendo they've been developing the game since twilight princess launch, perhaps even before

I so hope 2010... but 2010 is already going to see Mario Galaxy 2 and Metrod: Other M.
Do you really expect Nintendo to drop the next Mario, Metroid & Zelda all in the same year? No way.

Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)

Waiting for: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii), The Last Story (Wii), Golden Sun (DS), Portal 2 (Wii? or OSX), Metroid: Other M (Wii),
... and of course Zelda (Wii)

2010.
