Why so much hate for the D&D (Dungeons & Dragons, I presume?)

For many years D&D was cursed with a very bad stigma which made it the target for many activist groups.

This has for the most part faded since but among the older generations it still exists.

I actually thought Legend of Kyrandia was decent. Also when you mention Legend of Kain are you talking about Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain because that was pretty good, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver was decent as well.

One of the first bad games I played that really stood out was Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes of the Lance. I was a big Dragonlance fan so I couldn't wait for the game to come out (I waited eagerly in anticipation for months). When I finally got the game home and started playing I got upset at how bad it was and actually said "What is this shit?!?". It was a pretty big letdown.

Another would have to be Ghostbusters 2. I really enjoyed the first Ghostbusters game and was extremely disappointed by the second game that was just complete crap, I was also disappointed by the second Ghostbusters movie as well.

I think the reason I Legend of Kyrandia sticks out in my head is because I could never play more than the first chapter or so because the game always crashed. I'll just replace it with Heretic. As for Legacy of Kain, I think it was Blood Omen and I just didn't like the game. My parents got it for me for Christmas and I just hated it.

I never played Ghostbusters II, but I remember playing Ghostbusters on the NES and loved it even though I didn't know what was going on. I played that game a few months ago and that game is one of the biggest piles of crap I've ever played.

The only fantasy book game I got to play as a kid was one of the Deathgate games. It was cool but I'm sure if I played it today it would suck. I actually loved Dragonlance too though I'm sure if my parents ever figured out it was based on DnD they would have burned those books. I still remember the day they found out my sister played DnD, they almost disowned her. If only they knew I got my job partly because of DnD. :-p

The parents thought D&D and role playing games in general were suicide cults because of those kids in the late 70's or early 80's or whatever.  They thought if I played and my character died, I would commit suicide I suppose.  The funny thing is, just as a test one day I told them I was off to play the Star Wars Role Playing Game and they were cool wit that.

Friday the 13th sucked so bad on the NES, yet I still rented it many times, haha (that's what kids do ;p)

I think I only played it a few times, but Yo! Noid (NES) sucked too. Whatever happened to the Noid? Did Domino's Pizza kill him off?

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Flicking switches on the Altair. It sucked.

Nintendo Wii; Red Steel. The game was so bad I actually almost cried. Plus, I it was part of the reason I sold my Wii. The game still makes me think that Motion constrols can never play a game the right way.

When I got the first Jak and Daxter, I realised how poor Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex was.

I actually understand you ... I remember playing Crusaders , an actually liked it ... than I saw some reviews . .. as soon as I read one of them , I started to notice the issues with games ... untill then everithing seemed pretty good , even Jetpack port for the PC :P

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Legend of Kage on the NES. I was more tolerant of bad games back then too, I started catching on more and more after Super NES came out, I think the system had a slightly higher average standard for quality than the NES (though there were still plenty of lousy games on SNES)

My neighbor had one those NES cartrige with about 110 games on it (many being the same game renamed 5-6 times) and although there were a lot of good ones, there were a large selection of crappy games to be found.

Also there was a game, I think it was Back to the Future, where you would die if you ran into thrash cans. It sucked so bad!
