Damn, i've been replaying that video for the last half hour, it just looks superb xD the car details, the lightning....everything is real life like :) TGS can't come any sooner.

Oh, and to those who say that the GT video is CGI, take a good look at the road texture in 1:10 - 1:12, if it was a real CG movie, the texture would look a hell of a lot better, that's the the texture layer of the ingame engine. Also, on that same time frame you can see some jaggies on the left fence of the pit lane, again, another graphical issue that wouldn't happen in CGI

yeah I should've said ''in-engine'' not CGI

Well, if it is CGI, why haven't they provided a link saying it is, that's what I can't seem to figure out. It's funny, GT is often times accused of being CGI, but then nobody provides links to prove anything.

you really need a link to see it's not completely in-game visuals? wow that's some fan you are :D

anyway I dont want to make an issue of it. The game looks photorealistic as it is.

wow, i'm not really a car guy are a racing game guy but hot damn i might have to pick this up.

Both videos are very good but the GT one is CGI (already confirmed, SCEA) and the Forza video is actual in game graphics (also confirmed, Turn 10), so not an ideal way to compare graphics etc but as far as videos go I think they are both superb for different reasons.

Is that true? In that case Forza 3 is the winner. I doubt the GT5 clip is CGI though.

You claim it's CGI, prove it. It has nothing to do with what "fan" I am, in fact that's as irrelevant as it gets. Some of you call it CGI, prove it. If you can't, you shouldn't have quoted me.

I corrected myself, look above.

He didn't prove if that was true, he's provided no proof of anything. He just posted it.

Yeah. He's a lier (probably).

I think the difference between these two presentations reflect the difference we've seen in gameplay so far.

i just wondered what would be easier?

To get a confirmation by Polyphony that they used CGI, or a confirmation by Turn10 that it is ALL in-Game Graphics?

and which confirmation would be more reliable? :D

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

@CGI

talk to FKNetwrok about this who just said randomly "SCEA have confirmed this"

yeah they so havn;t!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

@CGI-Quality

Yes, it has been like this since the trailer at E3 09. What people seem to forget is that fewer and fewer devs show CGI movies when promoting their own games, a few exceptions being the FF games, and some target renders, that this generation has shown that they can be met.
PD has a tradition of showing just a few tiny bits of their games, and the only CG that they usually shown is for the Opening movies and Ending movies of their games. So unless a link states otherwise, i don't believe that this video is CGI, because of the minor flaws that the video has, that are common to every in-game engine nowadays.

@nojustno

Fair enough. I think that both videos are in-game engine montages of each game.
