There is no other game out there that has this many enemy units or friendly units onscreen at once.

Huh?

Yeah I was thinking the same he is just very happy with the game and possible overreacting a little;..

I think his statement is somewhat acurate, but needs to be elaborated on.

There is no FPS game that has this many enemies and freindly units battling in such a huge area, all with their individual AI and actions. At times there will be 7-8 freindlies fighting off ~40 bad guys in an area the size of grand canyon.

Yeah okay....The first thing that came in my mind was left4Dead when I read his comment....

Anyway I got the game....

My first impressions are

-Epic
-Finally a story that really let me care about the characters in a Halo game.
- A bit to dark.
- Brutes can obsorb more bullets than before?

By the way...Awesome soundtrack in the multiplayer CD!

You lucky bastards, I don't have the spare money right now to get it. I'll probably have to wait until I can buy a used copy. I am just happy its impressing people.

I must say that I am little disappointed so far ( about 2h played).

Negative:
- Graphics are outdatet with todays X360 standards. Seriously look at those cars on the field. You have to search textures from them.
- So far playing environments have looked very dull and empty compared to the good variety in earlier Halo games. Not good.
- You can use pistol as sniper. (though this has been problem even in earlier Halo games...)

Positive:
- Controlls are superb like always

I can't say yet anything about the story but so far nothing earthbreaking....

I'll be picking this game up very soon!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

You wont find groudbreaking visuals...but they are not bad by any standards.

Play the game for 2-3 days and then form an opinion.

Empty environments have a purpose... you are in a deserted city you know.

I expected this to be a glorified expansion pack...

1 Hour in...

Wow...

Graphics don't measure up to something like CoD, GoW, or KZ2, but Halo is about gameplay and Bungie did a great job...

Soundwise, I think this is the best Halo...

Story... Way better then Halo 3...

Gameplay... This is simply a masterpiece...

I think it has been underrated by the media... And that is a good thing...

GOTY candidate... CoD will probably win, but this is a pleasant surprise so far...

Would you recommend this game if I didn't find Halo 3 that great? I wanted to love it I really did but never really got "into" it, would ODST make me want to complete it then go complete halo 3?

Im gonna go out on a limb and say yes.

The game has a lot more texture and is a lot more subtle than Halo 3. Halo 3 was all just "Big! Big! Big!"

This one tones it down, gives a lot more human element. There are more thigns to do as well due to being in this giant snadbox style city. You have to search for clues for your teamates, you can listen to side story using the com system in the city, you can sneak around enemies...etc.

I won't buy this game (Never bought any Halo games) but I will play it.

Halo 3 was my first Halo title and I really enjoyed the single player, I even made sure to read the synopsis for 1 & 2 before starting.

If this game has a very good single player compaign like everyone says, I will give it a shot.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
