No but maybe.
Need more good games first.
Carpe Diem!

Really, the time to grab the PS3 would be holiday next year. Some great titles will be out and Im sure another price cut will happen by next year.
Hey maybe even 3 more SKUs?! j/k :p
Nope. Peer pressure convinced me to pay $250 for a Wii. I was willing to wait, figuring that the price would drop to $200 after the first year, but no way that's happening (lol.)
When the PS3 hits $300, and has at least 3 games I want, I'll THINK about it.
There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
If it was $300, had backwards compatibility and a couple of exclusive games which were interesting to me I would consider it ... So far it is 0 for 3 of my requirements.

And that's even the low ball prediction.
Nope.

I guess in USA it's a better deal than in Europe since there's no starter pack there... But only if you don't care about BC.
I am very interested in finding out how well a 400 €/$ PS3 will sell during Christmas. I think it's too much money for most families to spend on a single present. Me, I'm going to buy a Wii for my brother (it's still not what I'd call cheap for a console, but well...).

Not for me, I got the 60 gig when it came out. I'm almost glad it has less stuff. I was always worried they were going to add cool stuff that I wanted to the newer ones, not take stuff existing stuff out. Now I keep my PS2 compatible system and everyone who doesn't want BC can go ahead and buy a 100 dollar cheaper PS3.

No... I would get the hardcore 60GB or 80GB machine. The 40GB machine is for casuals and kiddies.
