Anybody else playing this?  It seems like everyone's too busy playing Scribblenauts!

I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed.  Maybe it's just because I've already gone through the motions twice, but the first couple of hours feels like: Tutorials Real game Tutorials.  Heck, I've managed to get all the way back to Bowser's castle and I'm still getting interrupted by tutorials.

I'm also finding the mini-games kind of hit and miss.  My buddy was asking what I was playing while I was in the carrot-eating contest and I'm like, "It's a Mario RPG...except right now it's a crappy carrot-eating game."  He watched a bit and he wasn't exactly begging to play.

That said, giant Bowser fighting a castle totally makes the game worthwhile and Fawful is also a riot as expected.  Good game so far, I look forward to lots more tutorial-free game time.

Good for you?

I agree 100%. The first few hours of all the Mario & Luigi games is just tutorials. The funny thing is, that if you are somebody who bought the 3RD game in the series, you should know how it plays.

The tutorials were so annoying in the first two. -_-

Doesn't hinder any of the series's awesomeness though. And Fawful returns in this game, right? Fawful is one of the best villans thing in Mario! Can't wait to get my hands on it! ^_^

This game is third in line for my DS. I'm on Scribblenauts right now then Layton 2 and finally I'll be able to play this game...

I guess the fact that it's the third is part of the problem...like if I was playing this game for the first time I might actually need some help.  But if you look at the three games the special attacks keep getting easier to use yet the game keeps holding your hand more and more.  Now every new attack you pick up comes with a tutorial!  But at least they always offer the choice to skip over it.

Anyway enough complaining.  One other positive thing about the game is the whole Bowser + Mario and Luigi battle system is a nice set-up.  I like how it keeps the Bros. in the game during a long session of Bowsering around.

Wait what... it's already out?

I HAVE CHORTLES!

Surely, you could skip the tutorials? I didn't get interrupted and thought the easily accessible tutorials were a nice touch.

I am some 10 hours into the game, going slowly. I feel the game is better than its previous 2. More clever use of the DS. Simple enough for the "casual" but still offers some challenge.

Similar to its predecessors, the game on the scale of 2/10 easy for me (so far anyways). You can still die easily if your reaction to counters are horrible.

Love this game! Luigi is loltastic
