Forums - Sales - Will a Wii price cut send it over 50% market share before Christmas?

^^
You're right as long as shareholders' common sense prevails on Ballmer's (cocaine induced? ) world domination frenzy.

I suggest you check your sig for your other wii hardware predictions....

2 wrong so far, another 1 to be wrong soon and another will be looking very wrong by this time next year.

Not to mention the first two predictions.

By the time Wii Fit stops selling, the GTA franchise will be at around 70 million sales. Wii Fit will be lucky to sell half of that.

By the end of 2015, ignoring the PS4 and PSP2 which will undoubtedly be out, 120 + 105 + 85 (PSP) + 60 (PS3) = 370 million. Again, the Wii will be lucky to sell half of that.

Some of these predictions seem wildly optimistic. However i do believe the Wii will have a record breaking holiday season and knock a small chunk off the 1.2% deficit there is at the moment. I expect the price cuts, coupled with NSMBW and the supply that will be available i can see the Nov/ Dec sales records being broken. Don't forget too, the HD consoles have played close to all their cards, where this is just the first price cut. So many more moves Nintendo can do this gen.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

The suspected price cut will help the Wii stabilize and get back to around 49% market share.

And as it has been said previously, the Wii price cut puts it on par (in the US/NA) with the Xbox 360 Arcade. That is where the new sales will emerge.

why do you keep saying that?
