They've pretty much said multiple times that Goldeneye isn't going to the VC due to licensing reasons. But also, the Virtual Console as of late is pretty much dead, getting one game a week (if even that). And there's been like one new N64 game in the last year (Majora's Mask). So the hope to see Goldeneye would be a LONG wait.

4 companies, really. Nintendo owning their original rights, Microsoft holding Rare's rights, Activision holding franchise publishing rights, and MGM would probably want an extra cut for licensing.

It's very hard because of the huge popularity of Goldeneye. The game is a safe profit from the very beginning.

They all have the right to fight for it and get a good profit from it. It's not as simple as the N64 version of VC and then the XBLA version simultaneously. I think the real problem is in two points:

- Which version will be released first?
- How long must the other version wait to be released?

let me guess, you only played it a few times? once probably? grab yourself two or three friends, and a 30 pack of keystone/natty ice, play the game for a good couple hours, and you will be right back into it. the game definately does hold up. just like anything else, you HAVE to get used to it. this is mostly the case with N64 games.

It still holds up for me. You can't beat things you grew up on.

i'll say it again,

this game should be remade for XBL and WiiWare and make it the FIRST multi platform online game.
