So i got a new PS3 slim not too long ago, and i was bored last night and i found my old copy of Crono Cross game (PS1) and decided to pop it in my slim and i was shocked to find out the PS3 slim read crono cross, i was like wtf... o.o

I knew my old 60 gig was backwards compatible but the slim too? i also pop in FF7 and it read it too. I don't have many of my old games from PS2 or PS1 since i moved from my parents house so i cannot check more games, has anyone else tried??

I'll put up a video of it later on if anyone doesent bealive me. =O

all ps3's play ps1 games,

ALL ps3s are BC to ps1 games, the idea of ps3 not being ps2 bc is clouding the fact that it can play ps1 games and people just ignore that fact and it annoys me to some extent.

oh simple, PS3 hardware is still losing money, PS2 is still selling good, why kill the sale of a profitable hardware by giving it to an unprofitable hardware for free.

I think if they kept it, they could have made more money by selling old PS2 games though the PSN store.  And all of those "new" PS2 owners could have potentially been PS3 owners, increasing Sony's marketshare.
