I always thought Japanese FF fans ALWAYS flocked to the MAIN GAME no matter what.....even if it was a change of consoles!

I think it will sell more than 1.5 million lifetime in Japan....that simple.  Sure, the install base isn't there yet, but I still have to think that the diehard FF fans are still going to pick it up.  And I don't think it will be that much less than other FF games overall because it will be coming out on the 360 in the US/EU to make up for the smaller ps3 userbase.  I think FFXIII sales will still end up being close to 7-8 million ww lifetime between ps3 & 360.

famitsu predicted 100k for PS3 ToV and look ToV did 147k first day only I think FF13 will do 2+ mils first week in japan and about 2.7~3 mils LTD.

FF 14 is an MMO project and probably done by a completely seperate team. FF 15 is probably already in the works since FF 13 is practically finished.

If it sells 1.5 million, I dunno, SE loves money and they went the right way with DQ 9 on DS (Soon to be best selling DQ game ever made). DQ 10 as far as I know is still headed to Wii, FF 15 might head to the Wii but by the time it comes out it will be towards the end of the generation.

FF 13 was in development before PS3 launched and before the Wii exploded in popularity, they were too far in to change platforms so that's why they went multiplat.

1. No. FF13 will easily sell more than 2 mill in Japan.

2. No. This gen will be practically over before FF15 has a chance to come out. But I believe it may very well come out for Wii2 if FF13 sells badly on PS3.

3. Everyone will claim JRPG as a struggling genre if even FF can't sell.

Why do people think that FFXV won't come out this gen?

What do you think that the FFXII team has been doing since 2006? Probably not a new Vagrant Story, and we know that S-E loves to milk FF...

FF15 will EASILY make it this gen.......the FF12 team is probably working on it as we speak, in fact the story is probably ready.

Umm justlook at their previous predictions, as someone posted earlier, they though ToV was 100k, and it's probably going to be double that

Because games take a long time to develop nowadays, and there's three games - FF13, FF13 Versus and FF14 who have to come out and be hyped and marketed before FF15 can come out.

FF15 will not come out in this gen.

I do think the "total forecast" is for that particular month tbh, not lifetime sales (although it's confusing, since it's being compared to LTD numbers of previous installments).
