Man, Alan Wake was such wasted potential.  I remember seeing trailers for it when it was still a PC/PS3/360 multiplat, and it was going to be open-world.  The idea of a thriller game being so open and the world constantly changing around you when it turned nighttime had me intrigued.  Then they announced it being PC/360 exclusive, which was fine, as I could play it on the PC.  The concept is what appealed to me, not what system it was on.  But then it was announced as a 360 exclusive and it was going to be linear and my interest dropped 100%.  Damn shame really.

next u...GT5...then UC2/R3/I2 etc...then NGP :) bring it on

I'm guessing you meant UC3 there.  But I do agree, we will continue to have these kinds of threads and "victories."  Some people just can't comprehend that the PS3 can sell games, even when the numbers show the attach rate isn't that far from the 360.  It's in the same line of thinking that EVERY financial quarter that Sony reports, they are stuffing the channels with unwanted PS3s, even though that is competely impossible.

Even though i was a doubter i still bought the damn thing day 1 and have not regretted, but its good to see that people want more than to just shoot things and "try" to dance. variety is the spice of life

People only buy the PS3 for Blu-rays.  People don't get it for games.  (I remember Madskillz always saying that, lol).

Sony overships and stuffs the channels.  They shouldn't be worried about imports being held in Europe because they have millions upon millions of PS3s on shelves to sell from stuffing the channel this whole time.

Indeed, before it came out, I thought it'd be a success to sell 200K.

It's more an interactive movie then an actual game.

I honestly dont know where the 200k-500k estimations come from. Everything about the game says it should have sold, and did.

Not really. It was a bit of a gamble and they should get the credit for the sells. I highly doubt anyone of them thought it would be as big as a hit as it became. Im with a lot of other people. I expected 500k if that.
