Forums - Sony - Could MLB: The Show be the first title to use Sony Wand.?

Sony Wand is coming out around March 2010 and definitely Sony will try to have couple of titles ready with the launch to show the capability of Wand. MLB: The Show also releases around the same time frame and it has got some great reviews over the last couple of yrs and the only major update they can do in the title is to add the support of Wand. It is well popular title in US and with the new lower priced PS3 it should sell well also if the Wand is implemented nicely... and the title itself can

Do you think Sony will  bring a new title for Sony Wand or they are going to implement it on existing title.. Golf can be another title to benefit from Sony Wand..

I would love to see MLB 2010 The Show use motion controls as an option. Hopefully they will make it happen whether the cotrollers are out or not. Or they could patch them into the game upon release.

My personal view is that Sony should make a nice compromise of new and classic IP for th motion controls. To me games like Ape Escape, Hot Shots, and Resistance would be franchises that could benifit greatly from motion controls. I also think that a great survival hororr game could be developed with motion contols.

As long as Sony sticks to things that work, and don't start forcing gamers to use motion in rediculous situations, then I think this motion control stuff can actually work.

Might be an option.

But hopefully they dont make it the ONLY control option.

All sports titles hopefully have the option between the dualshock and the wand. But I think we will see some smaller PSN (wii sports type) of games

I'd like to see Sony's finalized design first. I mean I just don't see how Sony can show off an "early prototype" version of their wands and have it out already in March 2010, while MS has been working on Natal for a few years now (at least the idea or plan to create it was hinted at in a Bill Gate's speech a while back) and showed the finalized product.

Maybe it's just me. That just doesn't seem like enough time to get some launch games done specifically for the controller, because adding it to a game like MLB would be not much different than using the existing Six Axis controls.

How Wand can be useful in Resistance? i thought shooters are not the right category for motion control

Btw interesting news..

Yeah that and pitch it like a baseball.  Not all that different from using a Wii-mote as a baseball bat.

The Wand will have its own games... like Building Blocks - The game.

Do you know how unconfortable that would be?

Plus, I doubt sixaxis is responsive enough.
