No motion control
Wii = White PS2, but with less good games

Anyone else feel like this is moving in the wrong direction? I would have rather had optional MotionPlus support, than optional Classic Controller support.

Yup, there he is.
Are there 2 of him or is it a mirror? (I can't see Shinobu's reflection if it is a mirror)

Yeah, I think a lot of us were hoping that the game design would evolve past button-mashing punctuated by gestures. It made sense with the limited fidelity of the accelerometer, but when the big gameplay advancement is being able to press a button to switch to canned attack moves with two swords, it's a little disappointing. I'm still on-board for Travis shenanigans and Suda-brand insanity, but this is a missed opportunity to do something new. It's clear that the goal was to refine all the shortcomings of the first game and not to push any new boundaries. Red Steel 2 is still looking quite promising. |
Wii MotionPlus was announced while NMH2 was near the end of development, so implementing WM+ would've required a lot of backtracking, which in the end won't e worth the wait.
Besides, NMH has dozens of enemies coming at a fast pace, and can you tell me how you would dodge bullets? By standing still, just like the 1st game. The game will be a must-buy no matter what, so I don't see why you guys are making such a big deal about it.
It has better graphics, a better overworld, 2D minigames, and at least ~20 bosses.

Why would anyone want to wave their arms around when they can simply press a button? Its a good thing there is no motion control. It would be better if there was NO motion control.
The first game was amazing and had very little motion controls out side of finishers. I'm glad its staying relatively waggle free.

Why would anyone want to press a button when they can wave their arms around? Its a good thing that CC is optional. It would be better if there was even MORE motion, perhaps M+.
All this aside, iat least we know how the now inevitable 360 port is going to play :(
