When will those Deer Hunter games come to the Wii? I don't get the appeal with them, but they sell quite a lot.

I think it's kind of stupid to say that the zapper limits the game play and use of buttons.
First of all, no buttons are actually hidden behind any plastic. Look at the possible use of the buttons, shall we?
Motion sensing - First of all I want to point out that the IR and motion sense is not the same thing. Why would you not be able to use the motion sensing with the zapper?
A-button, D-pad, +, -, 1 and two - Well, let's say you switch weapon, reload, heal, etc. YEAH!
C and Z - Hm, heard of secondary shells, zoom, granades?
Bah
Destructoid, a blog that do not really like the Wii loved LCT. Also no issues with the zapper controls. This could be the next Wii Play. In a age where cell phone quality games are 10 bucks, 20 for that (game plus shell) is a bargain.

^exactly you don't have to keep both hands on the two handles all the time.
what would you do with a real weapon that needed reloading by pulling something on the top (like small semi-auto) would you just not reload.
FPS can take advantage of this perephrial, the face buttons of the remote are accessible (you could even use one as a safety catch
) and can always have the other control scheme as an option (or have zapper as option) so that anyone who never wants to let go of their remote and nunchuck can still press buttons.

control scheme;
fire is the trigger obviously...aim with the IR pointer
move with the control stick
sidestep by pressing c and using the control stick (jumping/ducking could be done in the same way)
secondary fire, or reload could be the z-button or one of the face buttons (secondary fire button on the face would be a switch though....so you press it then press the trigger.....unless maybe using a rocket launcher, which are often activated by a button anyway)
change weapon up/down with 1/2 buttons (or could use one of them to enter a menu then point to a weapon like with twilight princess)
there is still the plus/minus button...possibly one of the other face buttons and the d-pad left.....so maybe issuing commands in those war games you all like would be the d-pad, + could go to some game pause menu or something and - could do somehting else.
that's covered everything i can think of and i haven't even inluded motion controls. (could be used for commands, therefore freeing up the d-pad)
Oh, i have just realised what the zapper is missing.....if only Nintendo could have added an extendable (and lockable) stock to that bit under the nunchuck....that would rock.

I don't think so... I remember something where to use the rocket launcher you had to like flip the Wii-mote. This seems like itd be impossible to pull off with the zapper.

^as i said in my first post, there will be seperate control schemes for games, i mean MoH isn't packed with the remote, they will have a normal scheme that may involve what you said about the Rocket launcher, and do something different if you choose zapper controls.
and of course you would be able to choose the zapper control method without havin bought the zapper, some may prefer it that way anyway

I predict there will be an outcry among rapper wannabes that you can't easily hold the zapper sideways and look "gangsta".
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Afterwards, it'll be discontinued in 2009 or earlier. And then everyone who bought it will be stuck with a useless 20 dollar hunk of plastic that all they can play with is Link's Crossbow Training and one or two other games (Duck Hunt Wii, which could be played just as well with just the standard Wiimote?) Oh yeah, and it'll definitely suffer from stupid PTA people or whatever going "OMG THIS WILL TEACH YOUR KIDS TO KILL DON'T BUY IT!!!" Anyway, do you think that's likely? I do. I'll be putting it in mah sig. P.S. Link's Crossbow Training looks crappy as hell, and I love both casual games and Zelda games, but the two should never mix. |
Couldn't of said it better myself except for the discontinued part i think it will stay for sale although not much people will buy it.
