fixed it. yea this game is built more like a WRPG my friend. Its a JRPG in name only

DS only "looks" like a WRPG. it's quite linear and doesn't really have the open world.
besides, "Katana" is in the weapon list, so it's a JAPANESE RPG

hmmm nope gotta disagree with you on that one.
it has:
- medevil setting
- 100+ hours of gameplay
- weak story
yup looks like a WRPG to me.
oh and being linear has nothing to do with it. Both KOTOR and Mass Effect are quite linear as well and there classified as WRPG's. But nevertheless this game is going to be awesome and should be recommended to fans of both genres

Final Fantasy IX had a medieval setting.
Nearly every JRPG has over 100 hours of gameplay
Demon's Souls does not have a weak story. I rather like it.
|
odd since i cant think of one. unless u plan on getting 100% but usually its around 30-40 hours tops on main story. But most WRPG's i find expecially fallout 3 and oblivion have an enormous amount of hours in their games more than any JRPG ever made

I put over 80 hours into FFX, and I didn't come close to 100%'ing it. Let's not even discuss Pokemon.
Also, Demon's Souls only takes over 100 hours if you try to explore everywhere and grind a lot. If you're a good fighter and rush through it, it'll probably take you 50 hours or so on your first playthrough.
My first run through took me 98 hours, and my second took me only 40 or so, because I knew what the hell I was doing that time. That also kinda shows how important knowing your enemies is in this game. Get everything down, and you'll fly through areas, even if underleveled.
