Forums - Sony - Biggest Dutch retailer boycotts PSPgo

To the people that are buying ipods and Zune's this holiday, the PSP-go will no doubt turn their heads, so for any retailer to say that they are not supporting the unit must be crazy. Especially when the ipod touch and Zune cost about the same and they have all the same basic media functions, minus the face buttons.

The go is Sony's new Walkman with the added effect of being able to play portable full fledge games that you can download anywhere you have a wifi signal, conscious consumers will catch on to this and weight the options between the go, the Zune, and the ipod.

Bigger retailers will sell the go, and the bigger retailers are the ones that matter here. I predict a lot of people will be disappointed when they see how well the go does this holiday.

I think Sony will eventually drop the price of the pspGo to $200. They just want to see how much they can sell at the $250 and it's alo not looking good that it's only $50 less than the ps3. So I'm pretty sure next year they will cut the price

Damn is the PSP GO that expensive? that's just 50 less then a PS3...

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Depending on people's preferences, but buying a PSP-3000 and a 16gb mem-stick is already well more pricier then a PSP Go.

@naum

its effectively the same price as a PS3 in the UK!

£224 for a PSP go

£249 for a PS3slim with game.

in Germany:

  • PSP Go = 250€
  • Xbox360 Arcade = 200€
  • Wii = 250
  • PS3 = 300€
  • Xbox360 Elite + Halo 3 + Halo ODST = 289€
  • Nintendo DSi = 165€

The price of the PSP Go is just not right.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

thats AWESOME.

screw download games, you cant sell em off

i have 40 dl games on my 360, and another 35 or so on wii

cost is prolly 5-600 but they are also WORTHLESS.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

Wii Friend Code: 4094-4604-1880-6889

nedgame sucks

So who would buy a PSPGo when they can get a home console for the same price?

Nedgame isn't the only (internet)store that will boycott the PSP Go. Gameshop.nl has already stated that they won't carry the PSP Go, not surprisingly they have given the same reason. I do expect more to follow... but I doubt the "big guys" mentioned before will do the same.
