I think calling this a 'blue ocean price cut' is a good description. The value has stayed the same and actually increased relative to the other consoles but the time has come to attract more new users.
Do you think Nintendo's hopes for WSR are being realised? Has WSR 'boosted' sales but been unable to stop a general decline?
If Nintendo believes WSR is doing it's job but sales continue to fall then Nintendo must know that bundles and colors aren't enough and are unlikey to attract new gamers anyway. I still think Ninty might have planned a cut after 3 years or once they hit 50M, Iwata isn't exactly going to broadcast a possible price cut. This will also keep the Wii tracking higher than the DS for a little while longer.
