Here is an idea...

In this thread I hope we can list some of the games released in the last few months and in the future. Please list the games you played recently and tell us in short about if one should rent it, buy it or skip it all together.  I will compile a list and update it as more games get listed.

This could act as a user guide for current games as well as an index for classic ones.

Ill go first.

Section 8(X360) - Skip it!

The game is ok but its single player campaign is non existed and its sole purpose is to be played online. With Halo ODST 2 weeks away and other better MP games coming out, this one can be skipped.

Raiden IV(X360) - Rent it!

Game is a blast and one of the most complete SHMUPS this gen. However even with all that said, the achevemnets levels and replay value is around 5 hours. You can polish this one off in a weekend.

Batman AA(X360/PS3) - Buy it! (and trade it for something else when done)

Its a single player game which most people will enjoy quite a lot. You can buy it, and take your time with it, and because you know that the game is AAA, it will retain its trade in value.

Wolfenstien (x360/PS3) - Rent it!

MP sucks, single player is really great. If you can get a week long rental you will have a fun 7-8 hours with it and will never need to play it again.

Ashes Cricket 2009: Buy if you like cricket... simple

Beatles Rock Band: my first RB game and I love it, the Beatles music is great, so I would recommend it, though it is expensive to get the instruments, and you do really have to invest, because it is most fun in a group

Batman Arkham Asylum: Buy buy buy!!! An awesome game, I haven't finished it yet, but it is great fun. Maybe it is only 12 hours, but Rocksteady are adding DLC, and the challenge maps are great fun, especially with the Joker on the PS3 version

Shadow Complex: Yes downloadable, but buy it, a great game it may be 2D but it is just really fun

Fat Princess, skip, yes its fun, but the actual combat isnt that great, and you need a good team to really enjoy it

Prince of Persia - Skip it!

It's clichéd, too easy and it doesn't look very good.


Wolfenstein - Rent it - or Buy it!

It's a classic franchise, but this game has a simple multiplayer. Perfect campaign for a weekend rental.


Oblivion - Buy it immediately!

It's the best game ever created.


Dante's Inferno - coming soon.

@ slimebeast, if they is one thing that you cannot charge Prince of Persia with is not looking good

I guess it looks okay, but I feel the filters were too much trying to be 'canvas painting' in a forced kind of way.

I maybe only completed 1/4 or 1/3 of the game though, so I may not have the hole picture.

80-85. It was a fun game, especially as I got it just after my HDTV, so it looked particularily stunning for me, so I was happy to sit back and soak up the HDity... It did get a little repetitive, and the DLC was the worst ever
