Forums - Sony - Over 200 devs working on MGS4...

From N4G

"Talking as part of an in-depth interview published on Gamasutra today, Kojima Productions' Ryan Payton has revealed that there are over 200 developers working to complete Metal Gear Solid 4 for PlayStation 3."

That's a hell of a lot of people working on this game!

The more devs there = the faster it's finished = the happier I'll be. :D

With wages, office space, equipment and software assume $100,000 per developer per year ...
This means that MGS4 is costing Konami $20,000,000 per year ...

Depending on how long they have maintained this size of team, and how large the marketing costs will be, their total cost will be in the $40,000,000 to $80,000,000 range ... That means they have to sell 1 to 2 Million games to break even and 2 to 4 Million games to have a healthy profit; all this on a system which hasn't sold 5 Million systems yet ...

What kind of nutty company would pay a developer 100k a year?

Worst negative spinning ever.

You should provide a like to the $100,000 figure, unless you want to be flamed like all hell.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Those factors were included, just poorly worded. I'd still like a link, but all those would make it likely.

Can you even prove anything you posted, i don't think you can. Opinion as fact does not make it right.

At the very least, the PS3 should have a install base of 10m by the time this game is out. I don't see Konami failing to profit from this game.

You gotta spend money to make money.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
