Was already loaded? I wouldn't call three games (RE: UC, Ghost Squad, House of the Dead 2 & 3) loaded. It was not crowed when they made the decision. So don't act like they were entering it after it was crowded. Note that since Darkside Chronicles and this game were announced, there have been almost no major rail shooters on the Wii announced. That's because they now know it's crowded.

Just to be fair, the Wii has more railshooters than any other console in history AFAIK.  Even at an early stage, there was a ton of them.  Considering the time of release, it's hard to imagine the developers not seeing this coming (if not already present depending on the dates).

I think this is just a case of a developer playing to the Wii's strengths much like how the 360 received a lot of FPS games early on.

Around the Network

Yeah, words, having a working light gun style controller as part of the standard system definitely makes it easier to have more of these than the systems with regular controllers.

And to the rest of you, that doesn't mean FPS and TPS won't come along (hey, we're getting Call of Duty 4 and Red Steel 2 this Winter). Those just take more time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

What baffles me with this game is that Dead Space would be perfectly controlled with RE4 Wii controls. Making it on rails doesn't make sense. Or was RE4 on Wii not succesful enough?

EDIT: Well, maybe it does make sense, but I still think RE4 controls would suit the Dead Space franchise better.

I LOVE ICELAND!

I don't know, but I'm guessing it was the developer's choice rather than EA's given some of the comments the latter have made about this game.

How is shoveling a bunch of shoddy rail shooters, that people complain about, playing to Wii's strength?  I get SOOOOOO sick of hearing people say rail shooters are what Wii can do best in the shooter catagory, that is a slap in the face because rail shooters are cheap, they suck, and are only worth a couple quarters at the arcade.  I have a feeling that this game will sell like absolute garbage, because it is absolute garbage.

Haven't ANY of these devs played Resident Evil 4 on Wii?   RE4 is flippin sweet with Wii's controls!  Why is this the ONLY game of it's kind on Wii?  These devs are stupid morons.
