I took the yearly sales, and removed the monthly sales for September through December for each year.
This was to get a comparison of the sales for YTD for each year.

So what's the point of exclusing holiday sales? The biggest months for Nintendo?
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Year To Date software Sales Comparisons.
It compares the software sales so far into the year, to the sales of the same period in previous years. This is done with hardware all the time, haven't you seen those threads?

Yeah, the Crazzyman threads are epic....failures.

Why do I have to do the research to disprove somebody, it should be the responsibility of the orginal poster to be accurate. By June 2009 Nintendo shipped 384 million units of Wii software LTD, well off from the numbers above. You can look up the rest on your own. BTW, the 384 million units doesn't even include Wii Sports. With Wii Sports, the numbers above are over 230 million units off, that's not in the ballpark. That's not even on the same planet. |
Actually, the 384 million shipped does include Wii Sports. Bundled software is only excluded from the forecast numbers.
in yeaar 3 the ps2 had 69 million worldwide its year 3 4 wii and the beast of the next gen has 54 million in sales ..... who think wii will beat ps2 in sales

You might find this chart illustrative:
http://vgchartz.com/hwlaunch.php?cons1=Wii®1=All&cons2=PS2®2=All&cons3=PS3®3=All&weeks=156
Some people don't like this chart because of the PS2's staggered launch in different regions. Personally, I disagree because a staggered launch is a just a way of managing limited supplies. But if you want to adopt that tactic, here's the chart broken down by region (Japan, Americas, Others):
As you can see, the only region where the Wii is losing out to the PS2 is Japan, largely because handhelds are crushing the console market in that region. Growth in the other markets completely offsets that.
"The worst part about these reviews is they are [subjective]--and their scores often depend on how drunk you got the media at a Street Fighter event." — Mona Hamilton, Capcom Senior VP of Marketing

What? Despite how crazy people (including myself) thought Crazzyman was, he actually predicted something good. I'd say he was almost right in the middle between the actual total, and the total most of the thread repliers believed.
I don't really see why you come here, if all you are going to do is complain. I'm not saying that all the sales threads around here are accurate, nor that they're all necessary. However, the majority of them are actually interesting, and not that far off the truth.
This thread counts as one of the latter.
hey can you update this thread OP?
I'd like to see the picture now.....a month on from the phenomenon that is PS3 Slim
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey
I can do it for you. Shouldn't take more than 3 minutes for the current year ones.
Wii: 88.64 million
Ps3: 47.72 million
X360: 60 million
Or did you want something more specific?
