what? i don't understand people who care about BC.

i'm serious. i don't understand why people cared about ps3 BC. and for wii, it's even less of a concern.

whether they'll do it is another issue. i doubt it, but i don't see how it is at all funny.

The thing is that since the CPU, GPU, and RAM are suped-up versions of GC parts, BC is actually part of the Wii's inherent system design. Even if Nintendo took the reverting feature out, BC would still be possible on the Wii. Nintendo would actually have to spen money to alter the parts to make them incompatible with GC games.

i guess you guys are right about BC costing basically nothing. but all those GC ports and GC memory stick slots seem like they can be put to better use. anyhow, maybe they'll figure out something to do with them. wait, does DDR uses those controller outputs?

the Wii is an epidemic.

I see how the ports cost money, but evidently not a lot, and there are Wii games that use controllers from those ports (I'm not sure if DDR does, but a lot of Wii games have GC controllers as an option), so even that does more than just add to the cost.

Yep and who would have thought a game that involves maths that trains your brains would be a success....

Wii Fit will eclipse everything else... I even think that perhaps John Lucas might be on the money.

The success this product will see is unheralded - just like Brain Training was.

If it helps lower the obecity rates in the US, that would be certainly unheralded. Yet that's just a hope for now.

It depends on how well it is marketed. I would say that eclipsing this is a bit much, but right it wouldn't be that hard to sell a million with the right audience.

I will bet you my signature and Avatar - you can control it from January to March if Wii Fit doesn't sell 1 million in Japan this year (1 month).

If it sells more than 1 million I win and get to choose your Avatar and Signature for 3 months.

If it sells less than 1 million you win and get to choose my Avatar and Signature for 3 months.

How bout it?

I never had a GC but I have 10 GC games that I play on my Wii.  Just like the PS3, the Wii game line-up was pretty lacking until Fall 07.  GC games have helped entertain me.  It really helps that 5 of my GC games are game collections (Mega Man Anniversary Collection, Midway Arcade Treasures 1, Midway Arcade Treasures 2, Midway Arcade Treasures 3, and Sonic Gems Collection).

currently playing: Desktop Tower Defense (PC), Puzzle Quest (DS), Trauma Center New Blood (Wii), Guitar Hero III (Wii), Ghost Squad (Wii), Actraiser (SNES), Donkey Kong County (SNES), The Legend of Zelda (NES), Kirby's Adventure (NES)

will play next: Paper Mario (N64), Golden Axe II (Sega), NiGHTS (Wii)

Hrmm...

I hope it fails, just so Nintendo can go make a good Donkey Kong or Starfox game.

Montana, I respect your opinions, but don't you think this is a little shortsighted? Like it or not, Wii Fit is at least something new and innovative. You're basically saying here, "Rather than try something different, I want Nintendo to remake the exact same games over again, with improved graphics."

To each his own, but I find that point of view a bit disappointing.
