Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 2 FIRST REVIEW by PSM3.....21/20!!!! (can this be true?)!

I just noticed something: Maximum PC gave Half Life 2 an 11/10...looks like reviewers were corrupt a much longer time ago than I thought.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I don't see what the problem with this review is. All it has done is give an extra mark to say that this game is something special - that's not a crime. The last game to recieve a bonus mark was GTA SA so it isn't a common occurence.

All review sites have their own idiosyncrasies. You people take reviews way too seriously.

Anyway, on to the game. CAN"T WAIT!!!! Can't wait to hit the single player, then the co-op, and then the competitive multiplayer! lol!

The thing of it is, it's not corrupt. I think when you grade something of this magnitude, you're stating that the game THOROUGHLY entertained and impressed you. It's only corrupt if you did this while...

A. Having actually not played the game

B. Judged it biasedly (good or bad)

C. Were payed to say it.

Since we have no proof of any of that, we can't call it corrupt, but that we don't agree with it.

I still think people are taking this way too seriously but I guess that's just me. This is also ONE rview, ONE. Every reviewer won't give it this score...

I used the wrong word. I'm just stressing concerns over the fact that we might see a 12/10 review at some point, and then the reviewing system will become absolutely broken afterwards.

I always believed that reviewers should ditch the scoring system and just use words to express their thoughts about the game (detailed opinion, then summarize it in a paragraph for people with low attention spans). Not to mention also scores are fuel to the fanboy flames.

Edit: And don't get me wrong, this is my most anticipated title in the coming holiday season, as I'm a Naughty Dog fanboy, but still, I feel this particular review is a little over the top (pardon the pun).

I can't wait to play this one, day one for me.

Wow, this thread exploded from this morning until now.

I just wanted to say to those who feel 50% is what should be considered an "average" review:

The American educational system is broken down into the following:

(59% and below) Failing
(60-69%) Below Average
(70-79%) Average
(80-89%) Above Average
(90-100%) Exemplary

I think game reviews are scored in a manner similar to this.

I'm not trying to be a prick about this, but I do feel people let this stuff consume them way too much...

Fair enough. Guess I should let it go. What was bothering me was the fact that 360 fanboys are using it as an excuse to kill off the reviewers credibility. But now that I think of it, not even a 10/10 would please them.

As I've learned the hard way, everyone can't always be pleased.

you know what's awesome?  If Uncharted2 went multiplat tomorrow, it would suddenly completely lose relevance.

Hmm, is it just me or does the score not matter as much as people are making it out to be. 21/20, thtats amazing (like I thought the game would be) but I'm more interested in reading the reasons WHY they gave it such a Godly score. Anyways, this is GOTY for me for sure, I have had that as my comment on PSN for since E3.
