It wasn't as horrible as people say, but it was still wasn't that great. If you didn't quickly jerk around the controller and instead did slow and smooth movements, flying the dragon wasn't too bad. The controls that needed quick thrusts and such (like 180 degree turns, speed boost, and dragon vs dragon duals) were very hit or miss and were pretty frustrating. Overall, as long as you didn't have to maneuver in areas that were too tight you would be okay. There is a stealth mission that required you to avoid being seen by searchlights and you had to fly through a narrow area though... that level was VERY difficult for motion controls. I don't know how the dual analog controls were since I played it long before they were implemented.
Not only that, having multiple objectives happening at one time and poor voice acting barking at you every few seconds, regular gameplay could prove to be a chore. It was very similar to the Rogue Squadron games though in the end, it didn't have the Star Wars license to back it up. It could have used some more polish in pretty much all areas.
