Tales of Vesperia PS3 Fixes Major Gripe From 360 Version13 September 2009 by Shawn

You may have known about some of the new extras added in the PlayStation 3 version of Tales of Vesperia, such as the superficial changes such as being able to walk around as Repede or having Flynn being an actual party member. What you may not have known about are some small changes that fix some of the major gripes in the Xbox 360 version, making the game much more enjoyable.

One of the most major gripes in the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia was the inability to skip cutscenes (the non-animated ones). It appears that the Triangle button will allow players to skip the cutscenes, which is very useful to those who are playing the game a second time around and don't want to have to sit through the scenes over again.

Another minor change is showing the "box" from the menu when you get an item from a chest. Since the PS3 version will have new items, this is useful so players don't have to peek inside the menu to find out what an item does. This is also good for new players and makes playing through the game much easier.

Was that a major problem at all?

I mean did anyone bother to play it a 2nd time round?

Thats great news! especially the skipping cutscenes. (after playing Kingdom Hearts 1 all games should have the function to skip cutscenes)

@soriku

because it may seem boring

I think anyone that already played Tales of vesperia and is a true fan of the game is waiting for the superior Ps3 version for second playtrough.

I would, since the amount of new content seems incredible.

And for those the skip cutscene will be great if they want a faster playtrough. Altough peharps they will lose some of the PS3 only improvements if they skip (like the Full voice acting).

But still we waiting for the western launch confimartion. Namco must bring to westerns.

Cutscenes skipping is cool and the item thing will be good for people new to Tales.

You, sir, don't know Tales.

I beat ToS 15 times.

Is it because you like Tales.... or because your parents don't buy you videogames?

Reminds me of fireemblem oddly.  In some games there is stuff you don't unlock until you beat it 25 times... and that game has to take at least 30 hours a playthrough.

ah thought the major gripe was it was 360 only ;D

not major gripes for me at all. i still dont think with the extras the ps3 version is getting make it the superior version at all, just the completed version. i still am getting the ps3 version of tales of vesperia, but i wont be playing it through like i did on the 360 version , beat it 4 times now. with this and rof and ff13 and wkc more money goes bye-bye. :)
