Forums - Sales - Will Wii fall behind both PS3 and X360 on the week ending 24 September?

PS3 probably not, it'll have fallen off by then, 360 maybe, probably not, since most of those who want ODST already own a 360 from Halo 3

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Well ioi said that the PS3 should be ahead of the Wii through all of September and probably longer. It's hard to say about the X360 though, depends if Wii sales keep going down.

Actually that's incorrect, he said for most of September, not all, he said its possible that it could be ahead for more, but even he isn't sure how fast it'll fall off

PS3 sales next week = 250k
PS3 sales in two weeks = 150k

No.

People are really underestimating the PS3 ...

No, I'm just taking historical trends with price cuts, especially of second and third place systems, and the fact that the PS3 didn't move much software with the price cut, just hardware, indicating either people just wanted the blu-ray capability, or it was a lot of upgrades, and the fact that I haven't heard of any rabid demand after the first week, indicating most of the demand was satisfied early

Historical trends? Answer me this...

When was the last time a 3rd or 2nd placed console was the 3rd fastest selling console in history?

You ARE underestimating the PS3, as Seece said.

And also, there was plenty of SW sold.

i really doubt ODST will save the 360, everyone thats going to buy that game already has a 360, its going to be the same as 3

Dude nobody is even sugesting that ODST will "save" the 360 .. 360 doesn't even need to be saved.

I agree it will have a sharp drop, however it's not going to settle around <150k. We'll soon see anyway.
