I doubt that any game would be the "Death" of WoW
With those many pre-orders...Aion will do well in the first month..but 3 months later...
WoW is currently the Counter-Strike of MMOs- there were popular MMOs before it, but it killed the lot of them when they fell in quality. And right now, the developers are on a roll, and NOTHING can stop them. Not even Valve's own efforts- TF2 and L4D- came close to the popularity of CS.
No. No MMO is on track to kill WoW.
Aion, as impressive as it may be, won't run on 1/2 the computers that are playing WoW now. That's the key to WoW's impressive run.
May Aion challenge it a little? Sure. But by the time WoW dies down, Blizz will just launch a new MMO and it'll reclaim the top, I think.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
Nope, WoW will die eventually. Just like every MMO eventually does. It might be a slow death or quick one. It depends if there is a terrible update (kind of like what happened to RuneScape) or the community slowly leaves.

I'm thinking that too. Warhammer online started with 1.2 sales and is only left with 300.000 paying clients. Aion will probably go the same way.
In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

It's not a bad business model...sell your retail to pay for development cost, and get to break even...then maintain the suer base of 300K...

Thank-you! I have been trying to shake that notion for years, er...well months. Sadly, it seems to be a persistant rumor :(((((
BTW, I am eccentric, I just tend to keep my outlandish thoughts to myself.

I really don't think Aion will kill off WoW. WoW seems like a tough dude, he can handle himself.
