So i live in canada and the ads still say the nigerian war instead of world war 1, but i guess thats cause you cant tell people to run an ad once yo've already paid for it?

but the thing that bugs me is the guy says "MOVIE DOWNLOADING SYSTEM" <-- i live in canada and we canadians cannot download movies! so y run an ad that wasnt made for canada? to save money? comonn.... 

Well, that's your opinion that it sucks.. How do you know it can't be good in the sense that it's fooling potential buyers who were looking for Movie downloads but, wont actually be able to do it with the PS3.

If you want downloadable movies badly enough, you'd find a way to get them off of your computer and onto your PS3. Sure, you may not be able to use PSN to do it, but, there is other ways.. Hell, you can even rip movies directly from the disc if they're saved in the correct format..

The ad never said specifically how you would download movies, but, the PS3 is certainly still capable of it.

The add sucks. I admit that. But the big thing was that it showed consumers what the new price point was. It doesn't "do everything", but for $300 it does enough, I guess.

this is exacltly right the bundles like RockBand for PSP come with a free downloadable movi code. but people in Canda dont get anything. Why cant they just add a UMD movie? oh wait we dont matter enough..

Sony's ads lately do not suck. However the fact that the "movie downloading" service is not available at this time in Canada is not Sony's fault. They already announced they are working on the Canada Video Store after Europe.

CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) regulates distribution of media from non canadian companies very strictly. They don't make media access easy at all. Alot of grants have to passed in Canada for pretty much everything.
