I'm guessing it's a cliche japanese medieval RPG.

Devil King is the Antagonist.

The protagonist is brave.

Enemies are mutated/in process of mutation.

Food chain simulation.

Landscape varieties such as forests, dungeons...etc.

Medieval weapons such as Pickaxe...etc.

The setting is in Japan.

It's a new game called Hori.

You're a member of the Japanese Society of Bryophytes. One day, while walking in the Forest, you discover a bryophyte with a mutation. This mutation causes the bryophyte to get larger, which leads you to think that it can perhaps restore ecological communities - such as those contained in a cave or a dungeon. You take this mutated bryophyte home, after removing it from the ground with a pickaxe and attempt to simulate the food chain in dungeons. One night, while working on the food chain simulation, a spirit appears - La Gajigaji. It tells you that the world is in danger because of a spirit known only as the Devil King. He has entered an angiosperm plant, and caused it to mutate. It now turns people to seeds. La Gajigaji requests for your help, but he warns you - it will be dangerous. He asks if you are brave enough - what will you do?

Holy Invasion 2 already released this year in Japan

If anything, it's Holy Invasion 3 (Yuusha no Kuse ni Namaikida 3). The artstyle (blocky kana) reminds me a LOT of Holy Invasion, so I'd say it's very likely. Specially with the pickaxe and devil king
