It's just stupid to announce a game like this so late.
If it's really coming out in 2009 (which I still don't think) then Sony made another fail move.
It will definitely be a 2009 Release $ony is just hiding it because they know no one will buy GT PSP if its bigger brother is just around the corner. A month or so after GT PSP release we will have our GT5 Release date. $ony is going to use this game to close that 8.5mil gap between the 360 and the PS3. Expect near Xmas release sometime December.

Indeed.... or they just suck bad at marketing... Why hiding a release date ? Wtf ? It doesn't make sens to me...OR (!!)... they want to heavily bundle it but they fear that it might slower the actual slim sales.... They might want to avoid that people don't get the naked slim and wait for a GT5 bundle.

Of course they are leakin on purpose, they even made an ad out of it :
It was no coïncidence the photos of the slim were leaked either (they look more like commercial shots than actual stolen shots )

Saying fail is fail..........:/
A little over two months is more than enough time to do some solid advertising. Everyone knows the game exists and it is now simply a case of just announcing a release date and releasing the damn game.

Sony won't want to announce it too early as they won't want to steal any hype from GT:PSP. Also, announcing a december release date now may put people off buying the unbundled PS3 slims in hope of a GT5 bundle coming soon. I expect Sony will announce the release date at TGS to reduce the impact of any MS announcments made that day. As RPG and others have said, everyone knows this game is coming and the leaks keep us talking about it whilst Sony can save the impact of the actual reveal for a later date.

GT PSP's October release was announced in June. That's three months. If GT5 is announced for December at TGS in September, that'd be three months yet again. It certainly isn't out of character for Sony/Polyphony. |
yeah, but I think they waited to announce that because they needed some big to emphasize the psp go. Also, handheld titles don't usually get as much of a marketing push as console titles do. I still think Sony would be very stupid to rush a release date like that. Especially since they haven't even locked down a timeframe of when it is coming out yet. They would blindside a lot of people and that isn't a good thing for a holiday season. People have money budgeted for certain things at the time of a year.
I'm not saying it is out of the realm of possibility, because I can totally see Sony doing it, I just think it would be a really stupid move is all. They had their window to announce a date and they missed it, now they have to wait.

I think the same aswell but i am being deadly serious.
I also think sony leaked the slim and Go aswell to generate hype and to stall the sales of the other consoles and handhelds

As I'm unwrapping my copy of GT5 this December, I'm going to pause and smile in reflection on this bit of trolling.
It's neither late, nor stupid, and it's going to dominate this holiday season. Enjoy your triple serving of crow.
