it wouldn't make sense for sony to keep a release date a secret. If it was going to release this holiday, sony would have said so by now. The time would have been at e3

If sony announces the release date is going to be in a month or 2, that gives very little time to build hype, pre-orders, and consumer awareness. So if this rumor is true, I would have to call Sony stupid.

Personally, I am going to guess we will be seeing gt5 in march or april of next year.

GT PSP's October release was announced in June. That's three months.  If GT5 is announced for December at TGS in September, that'd be three months yet again.  It certainly isn't out of character for Sony/Polyphony.

yeah, but I think they waited to announce that because they needed some big to emphasize the psp go.  Also, handheld titles don't usually get as much of a marketing push as console titles do.  I still think Sony would be very stupid to rush a release date like that.  Especially since they haven't even locked down a timeframe of when it is coming out yet.  They would blindside a lot of people and that isn't a good thing for a holiday season.  People have money budgeted for certain things at the time of a year.

I'm not saying it is out of the realm of possibility, because I can totally see Sony doing it, I just think it would be a really stupid move is all.  They had their window to announce a date and they missed it, now they have to wait.
