the list actually isn't that bad.
If I were to have made that list I would I would have
1. NES (this one is here based off importance first, this machine single handedly saved the industry and without it all the modern systems never would have existed)
2. Atari 2600 (basically invented console gaming, but just like other american monopolies had no quality control and basically killed themselves)
3. SNES (I think most of us Nintendo fans believe that the SNES is still the absolute best console that Nintendo has ever made)
4. Xbox 360 (don't hate me, but the 360 is really the most complete gaming console gaming experience ever)
5. PS1 (this one is here because it is the system that moved the industry from being just for kids)
6. PS2 (probably the most well rounded library in the history of gaming, built right off the success of PS1)
7. N64 (this is actually my overall favorite Nintendo system, and my opinion is that it is also home of 3 of the top 5 games of all time Mario 64, Goldeneye, and Ocarina Of Time)
8 Genesis (This was my primary system of choice from 7th - 12th grade. 1989 - 1995)
9. PS3 (the current gen system with the most potential and despite what critics say its one of the most addictive consoles ever.)
10. Wii (even though I haven't touched my Wii in months, you cant argue that this system has done exactly what they said they were going to do and that's expand the market)
Honorable mentions
I loved my Dreamcast, Gamecube, and Saturn but they are clearly not as good as the systems listed above on importance.
notable systems not listed are SNK's Neo Geo, the 3DO, MS Xbox and the Turbografx-16. Yes they were all great machines, but they all had an extreme lack of games stateside.
