I predict 200k-230k range. will see the biggest drop in jp region(about 75%), because that thing is not slim at all in my own opinion. its a frustrated story why I bought another PS3, because after 3 samsung BD-1600 player broke within 2 days of purchase I gave up on exchanging the samething and just added a few bux for a slim ps3. To my suprise the thing is still huge.

I'd say 400k sales worldwide next week.

How come the PS3 got such a huge boost from lowering their price to $299? But the 360 lowering the elite to $299 doesn't even cause a bump? Have they not officially lowered the price yet?

It'll drop to about 300K-350K next week. Then the week after that will be around 200K-250K. That's my estimate anyways. If it drops more then that, I'll be shocked.

Sony didnt call it the ps3 slim they called it a redesigned PS3 so meh.

I'm going to say anywhere between 200k-300k. These numbers it had now are no way sustainable without some key software. People are only going to buy the PS3 now because they were interested in the software but didn't want to pay the price or these are old buyers buying the new system. They may very well be a big chunk in the later. The size of those people is what is going to determine next weeks sales. If too many of them were old buyer, then expect a harsh drop in sales as there are not enough new buyers.

The week after next, sales will probably be between 100k-150k. I think it will float sometime above 100k before dropping back down there.

probably over 250k, but not by much.... I do hiope on the other hand that it wont go below 150k this year

of course it's going to have a major drop in sales! at first, I thought it would have been wise to wait till november to release the slim to create a holiday buzz and limit the drop off sales BUT this way they have a longer increase of sales with a dip in the middle. interesting to see if it pays off.
