Wow. The Sony Wand is going to be really amazing when it's released in 2017, isnt it?

This thread just turned awesome

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

^ There are legitimate reasons to be upset with Nintendo. For the first time in history they have created a console with only 3 games that I would buy from them.

That truely sounds like it's more YOUR problem not theirs.  They've been making the same fantastic games they always have.  I guess it's a shame that you're missing out on them, but it looks like you've been missing out on them before the Wii even came out judging from your profile.

Nope. I have owned an Atari, NES, Genisis, SNES,saturn, N64 and GC,GBA,PSP.  I don't anymore cause i give them away to my cousins and what not as i get older and purchase new hardware(Hooray for BC).  There are fantastic games that don't appeal to me(COD, GTA, Madden).  I just don't happen to enjoy most of Nintendo's offerings this generation. Please don't treat my like a degenerate because we have different tastes.  It is my problem that Nintendo has gone downhill a bit in respect to releasing games that i'm interested in this generation.  I do think that is a legitimate reason to be upset with them.

The point is that just because your tastes have changed you shouldn't say you have a right to be upset with Nintendo.  They are still producing the same fantastic games they always have at the same rate... actually faster than the last generation.  The quality of their games hasn't gone down... you just no longer are interested in them.

Their is absolutely nothing wrong with differing tastes.  I don't like most of Sony's first party offerings... but that's not a "legitimate reason to be upset with Sony"... most of their games just don't fit my tastes.

Once again I ask, why bother with motion controls NOW.

It'll be over four years since Nintendo introduced motion controls. It'll be even a year later after motion plus.

They missed the boat. Just stick to whats making them barely any money than suddenly re introducing there fanbase to new controls now. They obviously don't have the software to attract people who are buying Wii's so throwing out motion controls that most likely don't support most the current library either...

Sorry it just sounds, dumb. Really, really dumb.

It's because Sony now understands how sweet it is to be playing a FPS with IR controls instead of the same old thumb on a stick method.  They want to offer the same and they will see FPS support a lot after the transition (in 2017 LMAO that was funny).  With Sony still playing copy-cat, I'm hoping that companies supporting Sony's new invention, revolution, ground breaking, original, creative wiimotes will make multi-platform games that will now be labeled PS3/Wii.  Don't need HD on my Wii, but more FPS variety would be kind of nice.

^^Me, too. They are both very different, but at the core of it, doing the same thing.

@ Slowmo

Wow... MS being innovative!!! That's a change.

This is Microsoft we're talking about so they actually just bought it then pretended they made it

I agree with CGI though that I hope both of the new motion controllers succeed but this time without the cheap gesture systems that ruined so many Wii titles for me (obviously given the sales though I'm in a minorityin this opinion I accept).

Cheap gesture system? Hey buddy, none of this would have happened if Nintendo hadn't taken the punt on motion controls 3 years ago. The price, atleast for Sony, would not have been feasable. Just be greatfull there are companies out there who are willing to redesign their controllers significantly, and take a HUGE risk on this technology. Without them you would be stuck in the past.

Regardless of whether they fail or not the Wiimote will go down in history as the key to the next generation in videogame technology.

Agreed.  HD is transition.  Nintendo truly did make a Next Gen system.  I give you a halalua and one amen.

I see that this has already been thoroughly debunked. I guess I don't need to say anything else.

i dont think its true at all, sony hasnt made a console or product for their console that has been easy to program for, thats been proven fact. it could be true but i will wait for the 3rd party dev's to comment on this issue before ever believing sony.

I get upset when the developers that used to release games I enjoyed dont anymore.  Sorry you dont.  I feel that is a legitimate reason to be upset with them.  I can't think of any other reason to be upset with a developer honestly.

(Err... My message went to wrong thread. :/)

Oh, well. That article is a bit stupid. Motion controller won't make game making easier for PS3. All it will do is make it even harder. Well, natal is more complex, but nobody knows what kind of api it has.

Wait, wait... Assuming this does turn out to be true, does it mean that 360 fans can now fall back on the "lazy devs" excuse every time a game comes out for competing console, or is not AAA?
